Summary
Digital Fabrication Studies collects a series of investigations into the relationship between computational geometry and physical making. The work includes component systems, digital-to-physical translation, sectioning, algorithmic pattern generation, CNC fabrication, laser cutting, and generative forms designed to automatically produce fabrication and assembly information.
Project record
01 / Overview
A collection of computational-design and fabrication experiments exploring how digital geometry can encode the logic required to physically make an object.
02 / The idea
The interesting part of digital fabrication is not simply asking a machine to reproduce a model. It is designing geometry that already understands something about material, tooling, assembly, and process.
03 / What I did
Computational design, Rhino and Grasshopper development, Python scripting, 3D scanning, CNC machining, laser cutting, prototyping, and fabrication.
04 / How it works
Each study connects a geometric operation to a physical consequence. Digital models are sectioned, patterned, translated, or decomposed into parts that can be fabricated and reconstructed, allowing manufacturing logic to participate directly in form generation.
05 / The studies
• Component Design Study
• Translating the Physical
• Sectioning
• Algorithmic Tile
• Organic Form Generation
