Summary
Hello. is an interactive video-sharing project exploring how live video can create spontaneous connections between people in places where time is usually spent waiting rather than interacting.
The project imagines locations such as train stations as shared social spaces rather than simply points of transit. Live streams connect people occupying these otherwise idle moments, allowing distant locations to become temporarily linked through real-time video and human presence.
Project record
01 / Overview
An interactive live-video system designed to connect people in separate public locations during moments of waiting and transition.
02 / The idea
Places like train stations contain large numbers of people who are physically together but socially disconnected. Hello. asks whether the time spent waiting can become an opportunity for unexpected interaction with people somewhere else.
03 / What I did
Concept development, interaction design, spatial design, interface development, prototyping, and project visualization.
04 / How it works
Live video feeds connect installations in separate locations. Rather than asking users to deliberately enter a conventional social network or initiate a video call, the interaction is embedded within the physical environment. People waiting in one place encounter people occupying a similar moment somewhere else, turning otherwise idle time into a temporary shared experience.
05 / Context
The project treats telecommunications as a spatial material. The screen is not simply displaying media; it creates a window between two public environments and allows each location to become part of the other.
